Singapore International Jewellery Show 2009

Thank you all who attended the event, I believed everybody had great fun that day. Great food, great goodie bags (though there were a few left-overs as some who registered for the event did not turn up), great talks and fashion shows. There was also a lucky draw organise by CEMS specially for us, which was a pleasant surprise. And most unexpected of all, I actually won one of their top prize - a beautiful pearl necklace by DeGem (will post it up for all to admire soon!). My aunt Alice and uncle John also won 2 bottles of wine. Well, I guess everybody is contented that they left the event with something. Looking forward to next year's event already!!

How to clean fake jewelry at home, quick and easy

Now that you know how to clean and keep your Sterling Silver Jewelry sparkling, what about fake jewelries? They are cheap and usually comes with all sorts of exciting designs.

However, you can't soak them in baking soda to clean them when they tarnish.

Don't fret! You can still save them - use toothpaste!

Check out the links from Youtube which will show you how.

Jewelry Care and Jewelry Cleaning Tips

Now that you have purchased your lovely pieces, you would want to know how to take care of them so that their shine will last.

Below are some tips that's useful for cleaning Sterling Silver Jewelry.

To care for your jewelry and keep it clean and ready to wear:
- Gently wipe off excess make-up and skin oils after each wearing.

- Use a nub free, 100% cotton cloth and gently wipe the piece clean using only the soft pads of your fingers. Store in jeweler's tissue or a soft bag.

- To help retard tarnish on sterling silver, wrap the piece in jeweler's tissue paper and place it inside a plastic zip lock bag and seal.

- When cleaning sterling silver remember that it is a very soft metal and can easily be marred by a fingernail or wadded piece of fabric pushed roughly against the metal surface.

For this reason, use one of the following methods to clean heavier soils and tarnish:

- To remove fingerprints, light grease or dirt, add a small amount of mild liquid soap to a half cup of warm water, soak 2-3 minutes, rinse thoroughly with clean water and dry completely before storing in an air tight plastic bag.

Never use chlorine bleach to clean jewelry.

If its too badly tarnished, not to worry!

Check out the video link from Youtube which demostrate a cheap and effective way to remove excessive tarnish - Baking Soda!!

Weddings

Every girl dreams of a fairytale wedding. It is the beginning of a new life for her, and perhaps one of the most important days of her life. And she wants it to be perfect.

Thus at angelz-closet, we have started our collection of wedding jewelries made mostly with Swarovski's crystals and pearls.

This kind of wedding jewelry is not as expensive as jewelry made of pure gold or diamonds, but looks just as attractive. Wedding jewelry is usually chosen after the wedding outfit has been decided on, so that it can match and complement it. Do let us have a glimpse of what you will be wearing so that we can create a design especially for you, or you may like us to create a theme for you.

There are plenty of options available - whether it is to create Wedding necklaces, pendants, earrings, bangles, bracelets, anklets, hairpins, etc. Some people prefer more delicate and light jewelry, in simpler designs and subdued hues while others like it more flamboyant and loud.

I've attached a few images here for a start.
